Boss insects gate progression and unlock critical resources. Each fight demands specific gear, consumables, and team coordination. This guide breaks down every major boss encounter.
Hedge Broodmother — first major boss
Stockpile bandages, gas arrows, and tier-two armor before entering the hedge lab. The Broodmother spawns spiderlings in waves — clear adds before focusing damage on the boss.
Acid arrows and the insect hammer deal the most consistent damage. Bring a player dedicated to healing and spiderling control in co-op.
Late-game bosses and preparation
Director Schmector and the Mant boss require tier-three gear, mutation buffs, and elemental weapons. Farm salt and spicy weapons for fire-based damage that bypasses armor plates.
